The Roadtrek: The Perfect Class B For Anything.
I recently spent a weekend at the state high school baseball tournament.
The weather was great, the venue terrific (they played the tournament in a minor league ballpark) and the baseball entertaining. Only one drawback to the whole weekend—I did not go in a Roadtrek!
I know—my bad! You would think that I would have figured out by now that a Roadtrek is the perfect vehicle for all types of outings and events—but you never really know how much you miss something until you don’t have it.
For instance—it was $5 a day to park. Certainly not outrageous, but that’s 15 bucks that could have been saved with this Class B Motorhome. Park the first day, and you’re set for the weekend. Besides, you will need all the money you can get once you get inside the ballpark.
My biggest problem was that I got to the ballpark at 9:30 in the morning, and sometimes didn’t leave until 10:30 at night. Long days to not, oh, say EAT and DRINK. Cheeseburgers were $5.50—$5.50!!!. No pickle, no lettuce, no tomato, no onion. No sir, just your plain ole’ cheeseburger. The always popular chicken fingers were 8 bucks, and soft drinks were a tidy $4. Not ideal for the guy with a small wallet, or a large family, for that matter.
If I had used my head for more than a place to hold my baseball cap—I could have escaped the entire weekend with my paycheck intact. I could have prepared my own meals, and gone back to the Roadtrek between games. Grabbed a sandwich, a short nap, maybe even caught that day’s edition of the “Young and the Restless”. See all the fun I missed?
The hotel bill was another eye opener. Four nights at $70 per, or $280 for the weekend. Eight dollars a ticket (which wasn’t bad for 4 games of baseball) the food, parking—let’s just say it’s a good thing I paid the rent before I went to the tournament!
The other fantastic thing about owning a Roadtrek is it makes a great second vehicle for the family. You can always take comfort in knowing you have your own bedroom, bathroom and kitchen regardless of where you are traveling. Across the country or across town, to the Grand Canyon or the grocery store, you can travel in comfort and style.

Airstream Interstate Available at Arbogast Vans
With gas prices on the rice, now is as good a time as any to start thinking of ways to save money on your summer vacation.
If you plan to head out on a long haul to your next relaxation destination you’re already going to be spending a ton on gas. To top it off, if you’re planning to stay the night in a hotel somewhere then you’re looking at making your wallet even lighter.
Thankfully you have some options when it comes to traveling. After all, wouldn’t it be nice if all you had to worry about is gas and food costs when traveling and not lodging? Guess what, it’s a definite possibility when you decide to hit the road in a Class B motorhome.
One of my favorite Class B’s is the Airstream Interstate. It’s truly a warrior of the road.
The Interstate was introduced by Airstream in 2006 and utilizes founder Wally Byam’s aluminum look. This Class B may look just like any other model from the outside, but underneath is a completely different story.
The Interstate’s many fantastic features include some very sharp looking aluminum paneling, gorgeous laminated wood floors and cabinetry, leather-laced power seats (including a reclining couch-bed), a stainless steel kitchen sink with matching propane stove top, rear-mounted backup camera with night vision, and gorgeous laminated wood floors and cabinetry.
Perhaps the best part of the Airstream Interstate is the rear-living room couch which comes stuffed with memory foam and converts into a soft bed intended for two. I also enjoy the Interstate’s dorm-sized refrigerator which comes with plenty of room and takes up little space.
If you’re in interested in checking out the Interstate for yourself, don’t wait another minute to check out our Class B inventory. Or, give us a call today at (866) 975-3287 and speak directly with a member of our sales team.
Airstream Interstate Class B Motorhome Sparks Debate
I was heading down the Interstate when I saw it – a brand new Airstream Interstate.![]()
As I work in the RV industry, it’s always great to see one of the Class B Motorhome models we carry at our dealership out on the open road.
As my excitement grew, one of my buddies – a self-proclaimed funny man – decided to give me a hard time about getting excited over a “silly van.”
“Silly van…are you serious?” I replied.
Apparently he wasn’t aware of just what this Class B motorhome came with so I decided it was time for a brief Class B history lesson.
To start, I told him a little bit about the history of Airstream, how well known the company is throughout the industry and the fact their home-base is located right here in Ohio.
He still wasn’t impressed so I decided to get straight to the brass tax of what makes the Airstream Interstate worth getting excited over – the combination of quality and luxury.
You see, what my RV-inept friend didn’t realize was the Interstate can haul up to eight passengers. Now, this may not seem like anything special for a normal van, but in addition to all the seating the Interstate also comes with a kitchen area, bathroom, a convertible sleeping area and rich Ultraleather bucket seats.
Also, the Interstate rolls hard with a 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine which can produce 188 of horsepower and another 325 lb.-ft of torque. This efficient setup allows the Interstate to get 30 percent better fuel economy than similar models with comparable engines.
After presenting this entire spiel to my buddy, he finally agreed Interstate is definitely a Class B motorhome worth getting excited over.
Even after he had agreed, however, I still wasn’t finished debating with him. Click here to view our motorhome inventory.
“Did I also mention it’s built on a Mercedes-Benz chassis?”

Experience History in a Roadtrek
Thirty One years ago this week (is it possible it was 31 years ago?) The United States Olympic Hockey team did the impossible, beating the Soviet Union at the 13th Winter Olympiad in Lake Placid, New York, and going on to win the hockey Gold medal.
The Soviets had won for straight gold medals, and had not lost an Olympic Hockey game in 12 years. Plus, they had pummeled the Americans 10-3 in an exhibition game just days before the start of the Olympics. The win by the U.S is regarded as one of the greatest upsets in Olympic History.
You can bet that few fans traveled to New York that year in a Roadtrek class b. The vehicle had only been around in America for 6 years, and was still trying to catch on. Hold the Olympics anywhere in this country today, and the parking lot would be over flowing with the best selling Class b motor home in America.
New and Used Roadtreks are everywhere, and serve all types of uses. Great as a family camper van , many use them as the second family vehicle. The Roadtrek handles easily in traffic and fits in most car-sized parking spaces. And you simply can’t beat having all the comforts of home with you wherever you go.
