2014 Winnebago Travato Class B Motorhome
The 2014 Winnebago Travato is a stylish yet compact Class B motor home that will soon be launched along with the rest of the 2014 line of Winnebago motorhomes. The Travato is a twenty foot long ProMater based Winnebago that was first Unveiled at the Mandalay Bay Resort and casino in Las Vegas Nevada.
The Travato which is a Ducato based recreation vehicle is truly unique from anything else that is currently on the market. What really sets it apart from other motor homes out there is that it offers every convenient feature you could want in a motorhome in a compact size. This makes the Travato a fantastic option for people who do not have a lot of room to store a trailer. Furthermore, compact RV’s allow greater ability for campers to gain access to exotic locations that a larger motorhome can not reach.
It is unique to find a motorhome that is a complete package like this one. Not only is it compact and has all the features of a much larger coach, but the Winnebago Travato is much more affordable than its main competitor the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. A great feature on the Travato that is not seen on the Sprinter is that it is easier to get in and out of due to the sleeker lower to the ground Ducato platform.
The Travato is the first RV to be offered in the United States that is built on the Ducato Chassis. Fiat has been producing the Ducato chassis since 2006, and it has been primarily utilized in Europe. In fact, there are over 200 versions of the Ducato chassis, and two out of every three RVs built in Europe is built on this chassis.
The Winnebago Travato boasts an impressive towing capacity of 5100 pounds. This is an outstanding feat of strength unusual to a motorhome this size. The vehicle has a 9350 pound vehicle weight rating, and a 4400 pound payload. Currently the Travato is only available with a V-6 gas engine. Hopefully Winnebago will change this in the near future since diesel powered motor homes get much better fuel economy. It is estimated that the fuel efficiency of the Travato is 15 miles per gallon. The motorhome is currently offered with either six speed automatic transmission or six speed manual transmissions.
The Travato by Winnebago is possibly the best option out of all the Class B motorhomes that are currently on the market. It is unique in its compact yet versatile design, as well as in its economical price. RV enthusiasts will love this new addition to the Winnebago family, as it finally introduces the Ducato chassis that has been so popular in Europe to the United States.
